Founded in 1949 by Mr Jacques BRUNOT, CODAL SA is a family-owned and managed company. “We are proud of our 63 years experience in food-processing ” CODAL own in Antananarivo (Tananarive) its proper headquarters and factory, settled in an industrial plant covering more than 2.500 m ². In Toamasina (Tamatave), we also own our plant with a factory, close of agricultural region for pepper, spices, vanilla, tropical fruits and also near by main malagasy port. CODAL is among the oldest and main agro-industries of Madagascar: 120 permanent employees, approximately 700 tons / year of foodstuffs, 400 customers all over Madagascar, 45 years of experience as exporter to more than fifteen countries all over the world. As a result of its permanent research policy, CODAL offers the widest range of typical malagasy products with direct cooperation with traditional malagasy peasants and their know-how.

Processing and canning of fine food products prepared exclusively from fresh fruits and vegetables selected from Malagasy traditional agriculture. CODAL is recognized for years as a specialist of well known malagasy green peppercorns (poivre vert au naturel).
Along these 63 years of experience, CODAL has developed a wide range of fine exotic and ethnic foods, condiments, specialities, and Malagasy originalities.
Our products are prepared and packaged according to international standards for safe food processing and offered in various improved packagings, in agreement with legal specifications for local and overseas markets.
Respect of original recipes, tradition, quality , innovation are our permanent goals, granting that CODAL brand is recognized since many years with a favourable concept of quality and liability by local and foreign consumers .
All CODAL products benefits of raw material and processing traceability, and followed-up by a permanent internal quality control department, externally checked by certified laboratories.
CODAL products are elaborated according to HACCP processing methods. Some products are granted with BIO/ ORGANIC certification by ECOCERT and we are members of ANCESM, malagasy official fair trade organization.
Since 1964, as a result of its permanent concern of a better quality, CODAL exports regularly to more than fifteen different countries: France, Denmark, Switzerland, Spain, Canada, Japan, United States, Reunion Island,etc… CODAL participate also to national and international events or trade shows.
